Hi, I’m Katherine L. Wright

I travel. I draw. I paint “home portraits.”

Home is a story about who we are. There are so many stories in our homes. It’s part of the framework of our identity, where our lives happen, and we are surrounded by those who love us. The soul of a home is made of memories, aromas, and recording the heights of growing children. A home develops over time. You grow a home.

In my Home Portraits, my goal is to capture the spirit of what home means to you.

I’ve had the joy of growing many homes. It is said the average American moves eleven times over a lifetime. I’ve lived from the coast of the icy Salish Sea to the balmy Italian Adriatica, from tree-filled Pacific Northwest forests to the open skies of Easter Washington and SW Montana.

Retired from Architecture in 2020, I teach at Montana State University, Gallatin College, Interior Design Department. I am also a board member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and the editor of “Hotpress,” their quarterly newsletter.
